Η ταινία The Woman Who Left, το ασπρόμαυρο φιλμ του Φιλιππινέζου σκηνοθέτη Lav Diaz, είναι η μεγάλη νικήτρια στην 73η διοργάνωση του Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Βενετίας, η οποία απέκτησε το Χρυσό Λιοντάρι.
Στο φετινό φεστιβάλ, με πρόεδρο της επιτροπής τον Άγγλο σκηνοθέτη Sam Mendes (και μέλη τους Laurie Anderson, Gemma Arterton, Giancarlo De Cataldo, Nina Hoss, Chiara Mastroianni, Joshua Oppenheimer, Lorenzo Vigas και Zhao Wei) διαγωνίστηκαν συνολικά 20 ταινίες.
